For the first time in school history both the boys and girls track teams were named conference champions. For the girls it was their first time claiming the conference’s top prize, while the boys secured their third straight. Leading the way for the boys were individual conference champions Emmanuel Chavez (800 meter run), Jose Esparza (1600 meter run), and Markell Jefferson (high jump). Jefferson was joined by teammates Octavious Dandridge, Lamont Smith, and Andre Woods for a winning effort in both the 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays.
On the girls side, the girls were led by a championship run by Maria Garcia in the 3200 meter run and Anais Macias in the triple jump. Garcia and Macias both doubled back with second place finished in the 1600 meter run and long jump respectively. Other second place finishes were achieved by Yesenia Muruato in the 3200 meter run and the 4×800 meter relay of Esther Franco, Deysi Garcia, Ruth Garcia, and Yaritza Saucedo. Rounding out the top three Solorio finishers was the third place finish by Brittany Hill in the long jump. Both teams now prepare for the City Series.
